One month on a glacier. Alone and isolated, but surounded by dozens of rocky and big icy walls. This is what we came to look for. We, a strong team of nine climbers/alpinists from France, hunted for this place for quite a while… A place which could match our climber’s expectations and dreams. We weren’t disapointed! In total, we climbed nine routes, including two repetitions, 7 first ascents and one unclimbed peak. Successful expedition! All of the routes were mixed-climbing style. More or less exposed and requiring a strong dose of commitment.
Kitchana Mountains – Alaska
This mountain range is located on the west part of the Alaska range, about a one hour flight from Talkeetna, where most of the expeditions in Alaska start. The average altitude is quite low ( around 2700m ) but the faces are really steep.
Our trip objective was to climb as much as we could. Using alpine style on those amazing mixed-climbing walls. It was challenging, sometimes hard, but at the end we had an awesome experience and a successful expedition!
